Global Gamble

Last week on Monday two people came to talk to us about a project called Global Gamble. When we arrived the lady came up to me and Millah and asked us to write on a sticky note a food that we would hate to eat like rabbit poo pie or something and on the other side who our favorite singer like Harry Styles or just whatever your favorite singer is, and she didn’t tell us why but later we realized when they pulled sticky notes out of a bucket as part of the’re show because I remember they asked to have a volunteer and this kid from Tawhirimatea went up and they said that it was a day at school for him and that his friend was on the newspaper and that someone was coming to school and they pulled out a name from the bucket and it was Justin Beiber so they acted like he was coming to talk to his friend but instead he asked him if he wanted to go on tour with him, they asked why and he said because they SAVED THE WORLD and they asked how, he said because they changed the light bulb and they did lots of little things to help the environment and they did lots of little shows and during those shows they talked about climate change, global warming and they taught us what has changed over the past years with the weather and other things like what we can do to help the environment.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Global Gamble

On Monday global gamble came to school and they taught us what has changed over the past years – climate change wise –  and what we can do to help the environment.

Project Global Gamble shared this action poster with us.

Choose one of these ways you could take action over the next week.

Record what you do.  Was it easy or hard? Did you succeed or were there factors you couldn’t control?

Write a blog post about your experience, explaining why you chose this action, how it could make a difference and what results you had, successful or otherwise.

Why do you think you succeeded or failed?

The poster isn’t supposed to be on my blog because the blog site won’t let it but the options were DRIVE LESS, FLY LESS , EAT LESS MEAT , REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, REFUSE, REPAIR , PLANT TREES , REDUCE YOUR ELECTRICITY USE , and SHOP AT YOUR LOCAL FRUIT AND VEG MARKET so I chose to do the DRIVE LESS, FLY LESS one.

I found this quite easy because I already walk to school since I live over the fence and after school I don’t go out that much unless I’m going to netball practice with Millah but that doesn’t matter that much because we walk there too so what I will change is biking to the supermarket instead of driving so that’s why I think I succeeded.
